    The long time users of NOF suspected the release as soon as the
    half-price offer was announced - there was a thread in the newsgroups
    saying 'look out, NOF9 must be just around the corner'.

    I new their would be an update as soon as the "great" offer was sent to me.
    So I waited before I upgraded. Glad I did.
    If you got the upgrade at half price then you can't complain at getting the
    latest version by paying the other half of the upgrade price.
    I emailed them when the original offer came out to ask if there would be
    free/discounted upgrades when 9 was released and they couldn't give me an
    answer on that at the time. If they said the next update would be half price
    then I probably would have taken it up.
