    Hi Chuck,

I'm new to NOF and don't see directly what you mean by "Re-optimize in Site
    View"
I would be great if you could explain me in a few words how to do this.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Chuck

I've done this and then the nod file gets stuffed up and then I have to
rebuild the site. Do you know whats gone wrong (v8)?

Now I'm reluctant to do the re-optimize, I just delete unused files and
export as a template. Do you think 9 will still import the 8 template OK?

    Dave,

If re-optimizing fails, it's usually because of non-Fusion generated content
that's been inserted in the site via HTML View or from Word or some other
    program.

I reoptimize a site almost every time I get ready to close it. I don't
import from Word and keep all of my assets in the sites assets folder, not
    strewn across my hard drive.

    Not that you do those things.... (-;

Everyone needs to keep in mind that a Fusion nod file is a database.
Databases need to be optimized and compacted from time to time. Whenever you
delete something you've added, the space it used in the database is not
freed up. You end up with swiss cheese.

Re-optimizing is the database equivalent of de-fragging your hard drive. And
    more.

I've seen simply saving a site under a new name solve problems.

Generally speaking, if you can export a template, you can re-optimize.

Sometimes deleting something like a photogallery can leave residue behind
that has to be cleaned up.

Moral of the story is not to work on a site for two years and then suddenly
try to optimize it for the first time.

Re-optimize early and often. Don't be afraid.

If something goes wrong, you can always restore from the backup the
re-optimize created and attempt to fix the problems before re-optimizing
    again.

It's like not going in for a checkup cuz you're afraid the doctor will find
    something wrong.

    Thanks Chuck,
.....For the insight into the problem, I think the site I had trouble
with had coffee cup's rss flash feed code. Though after the nod muck up
the template didn't import correctly either, so maybe some assets came
in from My Picture folder. I'll take on your advice and check everything
    is done the correct way.

    Cheers
