You are all right, I know that my site with 1300+ pages shouldnīt be done
with Fusion, but I started the site with some pages and Fusion 1.0 !!!!!!!
    MANY years ago!!!!

And it became always bigger. Now it has more than 1300 pages and I can NOT
split it up into several sites. Itīs because I need to copy and paste
    between pages....

And I donīt have time to make something db driven....

My site should work and thatīs it!!!!

Right now, I have ONLY problems with Fusion and it takes me a LOT of my
    time!!! :-(((

Images donīt get uploaded, banners vanish and navbars (text) have wrong font
size... and many more to come... :-((

thatīs not what I need now... I need to work, NOT trying to fix software
    problems!!!

    LOL... I KNOW this!!!!!!! :-))

the thing is that I can NOT split it up now.... I need to copy and paste
between pages and this is NOT possible with several nod files!!!!

And it would ruin my site, because of lacking internal links!!!

I donīt have the time to re-build my site. I just need to use Fusion to
update my site and thatīs it...

If 50 pages is the limit, one might wonder if it's ever a wise idea to start
most sites with fusion or if it wouldn't be better to start with a tool that
can scale so you don't have to reformat your first 50 pages of content
    later.

    Hi marc,

I am just curious, what is the site address... I would like to see a 1300
    page NOF site.

Looking at the site it whould be possible at least to split up the different
language versions into diffrerent sites, which whould result in a 66% size
    reduction.

Safe the site as a template selecting only the specific language pages for
    each languages.

Then create a new site for each language.

    That whould be my approach.

Version 9 sucks!!! It uses ALL my memory resources and blocks my PC!!!

Ok, I have a huge site (1300 pages), but I could at least manage it with
version 8. With the new version, going from page to publish view, it takes
15 minutes and when I just change the publish settings, clicking on the
CLOSE button, it takes another 10 minutes!!!!!

A new version should be BETTER than the older one.. NOT??!!

With Fusion, this is apparently NOT the case!!

    a pity..

why? NOF was not designed to do this.
As a user since Verson 1.0, you have known this all along.
It does not KNOW you just need it to work
You are the one who has the intelligence, not the program.
You are the one who was supposed to avoid this problem occuring.
    It is YOUR FAULT.

    >Right now, I have ONLY problems with Fusion and it takes me a LOT of my

Probably MORE time than it would take to rebuild the site using a
    solution such as WebSmith.

    exactly.
But it is YOUR problem, of YOUR making.
    It is not NOF's problem.

be smart and do the following:

    1. Return to your most recent perfect backup, split the site into
three as per the three languages and then get those three sites into
the best shape you can. Upload.

    2. You can avoid a lot of the difficulty learning databases by using
    SoftIdiom's WebSmith 3. It's a WYSIWYG cgi/perl program which will
    handle what you need.

    here's a WebSmith travel site:

    http://www.soulhawaii.com/

    http://www.soulhawaiitravel.com/

    OR

bite the bullet you should have bitten years ago and migrate to

    1. Cold Fusion (the easiest to learn)

    OR

    2. Migrate to an open source PHP/MySQL portal (the cheapest)

    OR

Migrate to an ASP/M$SQL solution like Ektron's great range of
    solutions.

Sooner or later, you MUST do this.
Right now, your site looks crappy and out-dated.
You need to bring it into the 21st century.....
(sorry to seem rude, but someone needs to be frank with you)

Ok. I'm ready to get flamed :*)

I agree with Marc. If I had a site that
    worked under NOF8 and

NOF9 dies with *same site* that is a defect
    in my book.

Any people who say 50 pages is the limit....
If that's appropriate then the product should
    be called Net Toy Fusion.

    There I said it.

    Now let's get back to
    blaming the victim and worshiping
    our choosen tool.

Flame as much as you want but I
    won't be replying

    Cheers,
    Roy
