crashes on launch

[doidom]

I don't know where your pulling that from but MM doesn't mention 98 on their
req. page. Just like Adobe - 2000 and XP only. No 98SE or ME which are
basically the same but work fine for me. As I stated before why upgrade an
OS
when everthing else works fine. Seems silly to suggest over one faulty
program.

I do sympathize with you. But the plain truth is Win98 and Me
are being left out of the picture more and more as users are requiring
software to do more and more. Older OS's simply do not have the engine
to power the software. It's like a 200 pound person on a go-kart powered by
a 5 hp engine and expecting the same get up and go you get with a person
half
the weight.

I would indeed think sooner or later you will have to upgrade your system.

As an additional note MM DW 2004 system requirements state
Microsoft Windows 98 Second Edition, Microsoft Windows 2000,
Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Apple MacOS X 10.2.6
with no mention of Me or NT, so it is not just a NOF thing.

Obviously if 98 is no longer listed online, than there were issues which
means it's no longer supported. Don't expect MM to reprint old boxes and
mail new ones.

The only solution - Forget about NOF9 and keep using what works w/o issue
for me.

I have been scanning these groups for about a month to see If I can get help
with the same issue - I have done everything - reinstall - deleted all ref's
from registry - used regclean - deleted some unused program files that I
thought may be interfering - There's a lot more -

I am using
XP
4 gig ram
320 GHz processor

Have you tried to use NOF in Safe Mode?

Did you install IE 7 beta on your system? It isn't compatible with NOF.

Do you have an expired Dreamweaver trial on your system? Have heard hear
that it created some conflicts for certain users.

Do you have any exotic developer's tools on your system?

How about Firefox 1.5 toolbars and themes? Some of them cause problems for
some users.

Which Antivirus/firewall are you using?

Are you the admin on your system?

When you installed NOF, did you let it run completely through the install
process without clicking on any screens?

INSTALLED

This is too wierd - I have never had a problem with NOF. Here are the
programs I installed just before installing NOF 9:

1. Jetaudio
2. Nero
3. Adobe CS2
3. FFDshow

Do you think there is a conflict?
