Maybe a bad install but did you use the NOF Lunching utility? Older dll
files from earlier version aren't compatible with newer versions of NOF.
You'll find the Lunching utility under Start, Programs, NOF.

    Default crashes on launch

I just bought and successfully installed NOF9. Clicking on icon to launch
program results in brief glimpse of NOF splash screen and then Windows blue
screen, say CTRL ALT DEL program failed stuff

All other version of NOF thru 7 have always worked fine.

wish there was a trial version before I gave 'em $105

Also, I found that if you are working in a limited account type
    [non-administrator] you
will get wrong dll version errors as well. Just my two cents.

There's a *launch* (not lunch) utility included with Fusion 9.

The dll files used by Fusion 7 aren't compatible with Fusion 9 and vice
    versa.

So, you need to use the utility to select and "launch" the version of Fusion
you intend to run each time. The utility registers the proper dll files for
    the program version you chose.

Look in Start > All Programs > NetObjects. You'll see a link to the utility
    there.

Done that numerous times. Ran scan disc and drafrag. Still blue screen.

Opened support ticket been 2 days since last response.

How does one get a refund from NO.
