    Sheila,

Note: Not quite as fancy as the one on Dynamic Drive, but it works in a
    similar fashion.

    Default expand/contract script for FAQs

I'm looking at trying this free DHTML script:
    http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamici...tchcontent.htm

You can see what it does there. Basically I want to have a list of FAQ's and
instead of linking to anchors down the page, this script would let each
question be clicked on to reveal the answer. It has an expand all and
    contract all feature.

    So my questions are:
    * has anyone used this?
    * I haven't tried it yet but it looks like I'd have to do the entire FAQ in
this code, I can't tell if it'd all be one or one for each question.
    * Has anyone found anything else that does this that might be simplier to
    implement?
    * Would anyone like to help me with this?!!!

    Thanks,
    Sheila

    Lucian,

I added code for a title attribute. Not as fancy as Overlib, but doesn't
    have the overhead either.

Thanks Chuck. You were replying as I was posting. As you can see I've
already implemented the "fancier" one but it's presented me with new
challenges related to my master border still!

    Sheila,

Did you try checking the block on your text box "Size Layout to Text".
Maybe this would autosize your page and move the master border down ?

I haven't tried that Chuck but I don't think it'll work interactively on the
FAQ page (ie: be short when not needed then expand when answers expand). I
will explore this tomorrow. Just closed NOF for the night.

    Thanks,
    Sheila

    Hey, Chuck,

How difficult would it be to add an Overlib-type tag to the questions in
    your FAQ code?

That way by hovering, people would immediately realize they need to click to
learn the answers - or not bother to click if they don't.

    Lucian,

Good idea. I'll see about adding that as an option when I get a chance.

WOW... this was so SIMPLE to do. I've already done a sample page:
    http://www.hoffmangraphics.com/ATOC/html/faq.html

Of course it's not ready for primetime yet. In fact it's a great example of
the problem I was asking about in my other post about the master border.
This is not the actually same issue, but a related one. When you click on
most of them the answers are short enough that they fit. However, click on
the 4th question and watch what happens. Any ideas what I could do about
that? I'm guessing the page would have to be made the maximum length so the
left master border could be the same height. In which case it couldn't be a
master border at all. Hmmm... every solution creates new opportunities to
    learn.

    Thoughts?
    Sheila
