Re: NOF9 assets location
Yes, Peter.. But before making a template I made certain my original NOF
was squeaky clean. No missing pages, no unused assets, no empty folders, no
meta tags and no potentially disruptive hand coded pages, etc. Exported to
template. Copied template to new NOF template folder. Make new site based
on old template. If the site is very complicated or large, there may be
some assets that get published flat but the folders were all there.
I should add here that I always publish my sites by Asset type or Site
Structure and never, ever use Flat. If you begin with a flat site template,
I'm not sure but it may (may?) clear your customizations. But I have no
proof of this since I have never tried it.

Re: NOF9 assets location
In Publish View, right click to create a new folder. Cut and paste files
into whichever folders you desire. There is a good deal of flexibility in
NOF. You can even delete html or assets folders once they've been emptied.

Re: NOF9 assets location
The trouble with what Nancy suggests is that all your images will be out of
path, and you will have to open them all again in their new folders. I've
recently upgraded to 9 and had a heck of a job with this same problem.
Templates don't open in 9 the same as the original in 7, all the assets are
in one directory which is no good if you have files in sub folders. NOF have
a couple of different methods of migrating sites, not just templates. Ask
them for "UPGRADE INFORMATION - site migration instructions." and use the
method on page two, but be careful. I've just spent the best part of a week
migrating 24 sites and I'm jolly well not doing it again!

NOF9 assets location
Hi, I have a site that has predetermined locations for images and other
assets. Articles are also assigned their own numerically named folders.
NOF, by default, stores its assets where it wants to, but I want it to work
with the existing site structure, How can I do this?
If I want my images to be in:
http://xyz.com/images/newsletter/
...for example - how do I set that up?
Also, if the html page file should live at:
http://xyz.com/articles/news/30765/
How do I set that up?
Is it even possible?
Thanks

Re: NOF9 assets location
Peter,
When exporting a template from a site pre-Fusion 9, it's a good idea to
remove
metatags added anywhere but the metatags tab in Site View (Fusion 7.5 or 8
only - previous versions didn't have this tab).
Those versions still had a place in Site Settings to add them or you may
have
added them in Layout or MasterBorder HTML or even (shudder) in HTML Source
View.
By leaving that metatag code in place, there's a risk that it may become
permanent
in the newly created site in 9.
Best to remove the possibility and re-enter metatags in Site View on the
page
properties metatags tab in 9.
