    Bob,

CC info is collected on the shopping cart side.

The e-comm component is used to create a catalog. Then you connect it to a
cart engine. Shop Pro is one...but you would need to install it on a secure
    server.

Look into using Mal's e-commerce as an alternative. www.mals-e.com

Mal's is one of the "engines" supported out of the box in Fusion. Mal's
provides a secure server, so you don't have to worry about that part.

When a sale occurs, you're notified via email and you then login to Mal's to
    collect the payment info.

    Hi Bob

Shop Pro is one of the Shopping Cart Store Engine options in NetObjects
Fusion in either PHP or Perl versions. This solution could be what you need,
as you are going to process cards offline.

    C:\Program Files\NetObjects\NetObjects Fusion 9.0\NetObjects
    System\FSI\Ecomm\lib\store\engine\Shoppro.PHP\shop pro_readme_php_en.html

You probably have the file above installed on your Fusion 9 installation, in
that document, (linked to from the E.Commerce Tool) it explains alot more
about how to setup and configure Shop Pro.

    Default E-Commerce confusion

Just taken delivery of V9, but still using V8 to produce websites.

I have a small shop with a PDQ credit card machine and want to take orders
via the net and the shopping cart of Fusion.

Just confused over how to do this. I understand adding the products to the
cart, but how do I get card details sent to me securely so I can process
    them on the machine?

The help section with the software leaves a lot to be desired, so any
    pointers would be greatefully recieved.

    Cheers

    Bob,

Yes, you can have a single database supporting multiple sites.

I've done just that using Fusion/PHP/MySQL for (currently) four different
    sites.

Products appear on some or all of the sites. That's an option in the
    database.

I do this with all custom code I write. I'd hate to try and do the same
thing using the built-in DB component.

First the database is designed and then snippets of PHP code or includes to
external PHP files are inserted using the code insertion points in Fusion.

Been dong it since Fusion MX, eons ago.

Right Chuck, I'm starting to get the idea, thanks for that.

What I would like to do is use database integration and have one master
database which has fields containing, product info, prices, images etc and
have that linked to several different sites which select out of the database
    the products relevant to them.

Is this possible in Fusion? I am just starting to try and get this work and
wondering if it is beyond the program?

Thanks for you help, just looking at Mals now. Interesting.

    Cheers

    Bob

    Bob,

Contact me off-group and I'll give you a couple of URLs to look at.

    Fusion/PHP/MySQL/Mal's are a useful combination. (-:

Okay Chuck, it sounds like this would be slightly beyond my understanding of
    Fusion.

What skills would I ask for and what type of person should I be looking for
to help me through this? Database progammer, 'C' etc?

Also can you supply the website address of one of these sites you mention. I
would like to see what you've done.

    Cheers

    Bob
