I find that with a good cable or dsl connection I can publish directly, without
it hanging. But since I rarely have a good connection, I use Filezilla to
upload it, usually folder by folder. Filezilla, and probably most ftp programs
expect communication errors and try over and over to upload before giving up.
NOF hits a snag and quits, hangs, returns errors, o sometimes even finishes and
says things are find when nothing was uploaded.
But - before trying it, always clean up the assets and re-optimize. also clean
    up stray code from microsoft.

    Default Publishing stops halfway????

I guess I tried to publish my site a thousand times now, but everytime
    transferring files stops about halfway.
I changed in passive mode/ active mode, but no way this problem is solved by
    that.
The program hangs and the only thong I can do is ctr alt del, opening the
file again, it then will correct an unstable file etc.
    Any help?

You could try publishing one site level or page at a time until you get the
whole site uploaded but I prefer to do a local publish then upload the site
with an FTP program like WS_FTP pro or Cute or whichever one you prefer.
Better control and much faster uploads.

have a good DSL connection, I deleted all unused assets, reoptimized the
site but still it quits after a while. Sometimes lets say 44%, antoher time
    66% etc.
The only thing I can do is ctrl-alt del as the program does not respond to
cancelling, but does not do anything.
Did not have any of those problems in NOF8, and I feel sorry I paid a lot
and I cannot use that part of the program that I found very easy in NOF8.
Hope there's someone who can tell me how to solve this problem.
I do not prefer using another program to transfer my files. What's the nice
    feature of NOF9 for then!?

There's no difference in the ftp functions of 8 and 9.

Try toggling passive mode in your ftp settings in 9.

After looking at the files that should be transferred, by another FTP
program, it was recognised that unused assets were transferred up to the
point my server space was full. Strange, as I deleted all unused files en
optimized the site beforehand!!! Only after deleting all files on the
server, all files in my local publish folder, I was able to transfer the
    site with NOF.
