    Default Fequent Error

I am getting an error in Fusion that seems to be getting ever more frequent.
I can't remember the exact error but it's something like 'A damaged object
has been removed'. This happens when editing page content usually. I click
OK and go back to find that pretty much all of my site has vanished, and
backups seem to have the content missing too. The Style is often missing
aswell. This has been happening for years through the last few version of
NOf but it has really some to a head tonight with a loss of 3 hours work
earlier tonight. It's 1am and I'm not at all happy. I don't know why I have
put up with it for so long, but I can't cope with it any longer!

this usually happens when text has been copied to NOF the incorrect way from
other programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc

to copy/paste the correct way, set your paste default to unformatted text

to restore a damaged site with minimal loss, simply copy paste the site from
the recovery folder back to the root, delete the corrupt and then rename the
    copied to its original name

    Thanks for replying.
I always paste as unformatted, though I do a lot of copying and pasting so I
might miss the odd one I suppose. Or I sometimes re-edit after pasting. Is
there a one-off clean up I can carry out retrospectivley on the site
    globally?

    .. . .and, sorry - recovery folder?

    cheers,

I also had lots of crashes copying from Word to NOF. Now I just copy
everything into a notepad window first, then copy the non-formated text to
NOF, works easily and don't need to install any additional software.

    Good luck!

You should be able to eliminate the need to go to notepad by following
the one time steps below which worked for me in NOF 8.

    1. Open any site and access the page view for any page.
    2. From the Edit menu navigate to the Past Special submenu.
    3. Select the Set Paste Default option.
    4. Highlight the words Unformatted Text.
    5. Click OK
