Default NoF 10 not good for Kiwi users

    Thanks a lot WSP.

I went to get my NoF 10 Upgrade and instead of being offered the
product for $US109.95, you want me to pay $AUD175.95

Now, when my bank charges my VISA, the first thing they do is convert
the $AUD to $USD, then they convert it to $NZD, so not only have WSP
clobbered me, the bank will ALSO extract additional margins from me.

I want to pay in $USD and just have the one conversion to $NZD.

Doing it the WSP way works out $USD109.95 becomes $AUD175.95 becomes
    $NZD204.47.

Doing it MY way $USD109.95 becomes $NZD163.57

Why should Im pay $NZD40 more than necessary?

PS - Have been using and paying for NoF since V7 in $USD.

Thanks for the reply - hopefully they will respond quickly as I do
want the new features, but would like to save the $40.

    That's ridiculous!
Have you tried using NZ PayPal instead?

    Sure is ridiculous!

Why WesitePros products always has to have a large non-US resident surcharge
added has never been answered over the years. Sorry, I stand corrected. The
only response ever forthcoming stated that I should take it up with European
governments as the additional charge was for VAT (Value Added Tax).
Smokescreen .. VAT has already been taken into consideration in my
    calculation.

From a UK perspective, the surcharge is less than on previous occasions but
is still $18 on an upgrade!!

I buy most of my software and services over the net from the US and no other
    company adds the surcharge.

Since everyone downloads NOF from the same source it must be assumed that it
    is sheer profiteering.

Don't get me wrong, I think the price charged is a fair reflection on
product value. I just think that having different classes of customers based
    on residence stinks!

And, for the record, it should be noted that the vendor is based in Europe, Germany, specifically. They only respond
(based on my experience) with automated replies. I went to the trouble of getting telephone numbers and contacting
    them. Waste of time.

This is the problem - they are used to doing what ever they damn well please and the idea that the customer should be
considered is just foreign to the European business paradigm. I have worked too many years in the USA and Europe I
guess. In Europe the businesses run everything - you cannot take your automobile/motorcycle/whatever to any dealer for
service if it is under warranty other than the one you purchased from - unless the original dealer gives you permission
to do so. This is just one more reason why, while it is currently out of control, the US justice system is soo much
better than any other on earth. Try to file a customer oriented law suit in Europe. Good luck. Environment they
understand but the consumer is definitely at the hind portion of the dog when sucking.

Oh, and just to keep everyone up to date - I queried WSP's ecommerce
vendor, had an automated reply, but an entire business day (their
time) and 2 business days (my time) have passed without any
    communication from a human.

Just why *DO* they make it hard for me to buy from them?

Many times I have said to a company, just like this one, "Why do you
make it so hard for me to spend my money with you?". Not many get it.

When i contrast this with the help and support I get at Softidiom, its
easy to see why most of my work is now done in 4D, NoF just being used
    to create the page templates.

Yes, this is very nice to hear.

Considering that they are looking at IP addresses and then ASSUMING that that is where you are from and forcing you to
use that currency I find the whole thing to be rather laughable. After all, this is web site software we are talking
about and they cannot even get their own web sites programmed so the CUSTOMER can make the selections they want for
    payment.

The issue has nothing to do with VAT or/and other taxes. It is a lazy programming department who doesn't want to go to
the work to make the site work for the customer.

Considering that this is why I am not running version 9 it is nice to know that someone at NOF has finally bothered to
reply. I have refused to upgrade because I am on the road constantly and out of the USA 95% of the time, while it is my
residence. I tried for three months to upgrade to version 9 but they continually wanted to over charge me.

When I last pushed WSP on this I was told (euphemistically) to piss off; they just didn't have time to be bothered - no
    one else was complaining.

Looks like I was not alone after all. I cannot help but wonder when the businesses of today will bother to understand
the paradigm of "the cost of lost sales".

Yeah, when you figure it out let us know because that is a rip off charging
us a $30+ premium. There is no VAT or duties payable on electronic downloads
in Australia so give us the opportunity to either pay in USD or charge the
correct exchange rate as other vendors do!! I won't buy it until then!
