Default "JDK Not installed" it happened in nof7.5 now if afraid to open nof9

have just recently been getting this message (NOF 7.5)
"JDK Not installed" At the same time my cascadia Menu by BitMotion
    disappeared off the page

after an NOF message appeared which said "There are corrupt (something or
other) and they have been deleted. It was then I noticed the menu was
missing and My client has 230 pages.

I thought I was ok as the night before I had taken a backup. But as soon as
I opened the sited the same thing happened and no menu bar.

What is this "JDK Not installed" How can I fix it ???

I am now afraid to open NOF9 incase the same thing happens

simply reinstall 7.5 and all updates, this will reinstall JDK and all will
    be well again

reinstalling does not delete templates, user sites, custom components or
    custom styles

    be sure the windows/docs and settings/user name/local settings/temp folder
    is empty

be sure you don't click cancel right at the end of installation, the window
    will close by itself
