Default Importing a site that was built in another program

I know I've seen this info before, but I can't find it anywhere in the
online documentation. We had a professional web designer build our company
website. I'm pretty sure he used straight HTML or Dreamweaver. How do I
import the site into Net Objects so I can maintain it using NOF and not have
    to learn HTML?
    Is there a way?
    Thanks for your help!

Offhand (no URL) I would say your web designer should have provided you with
a CMS (content management system) for you to use for site updates. NOF is
not an html editor. It's an html generator so it doesn't speak the same
language as DW or Front Page. You might be able to use the "import web site"
function from your start up menu. But it will probably take considerable
re-building on your part to make a usable NOD file from the current site.
And if the current site is dynamic (database driven with server-side
programming), it may be impossible to import.

As a work around to learning html, you might be able to use NOF to create
separate content pages that could be brought into the main site via an
iframe. But you would need to discuss this with your web designer.

Default NOF Would have been a bad choice for me

Yeow! Thank you for posting this. You just saved me $200.00 and being really disatisfied
with NetObject Fusion. I guess a cheaper alternative to Dreamweaver is to just purchase
Dreamweaver and save my sanity. Again, thank you. I'm really glad I checked here.
    Compatibility is mission critical.

Actually Version 11 full retail is $99 and dreamweaver at $399 is a bargin too. There are a lot of good books out there on how to use dreamweaver.

Both products are good a what they do. They are targeted to completely different markets.

Fusion is a design and layout tool that produces html. It is is geared to someone who does not want to know what is under the hood.

Dreamweaver is an html code editor with built in tools that is geared for someone who is familiar with html, css, and scripting languages who needs to control all of the code.
