    Default Page Background Colour

I am using one of the standard gif files for my page background. I have
had a complaint from somebody who finds it difficult to deal with a white
    background.

I have set up a test site and removed the background gif but I can't find
a combination of background colour that honours the colour set in Windows.
I have tried none, automatic and transparent. I don't want to specify a
background colour, I want to follow whatever the user has set up. Can I do
    this?

This is as bad as it can get, but don't bet on it

Many thanks Anton, that works perfectly :-)

The fact that I was previewing in Firefox and it wasn't set to use system
    colours didn't help much!
