Default Guestbook: Captcha disappeared, cannot leave messages

    Hi:

Quick question - my host was down for several weeks and after the site was
finally back, the Captcha code (after "Enter the shown code") completely
vanished. I have tried to re-publish, change settings within my guestbook,
its location etc., all with the same negative results.

Any such experience with NOF-11 there, anyone?

    Many thanks!
    Marek

Make sure that you have re-enabled the proper dynamic language on your hosting account. Ask your host if they have everything installed on the server.

You could post the URL of the form maybe?

Thanks, Mike. I thought about possible changes that occurred at the host
level between the crash and when they recovered from it. I will try to get
in touch with them. This was supposed to be a test site for me (with all its
limitations for file size, email addresses, domains available, etc.), a
playfield for my first web page, and perhaps a test of the host itself. The
address for the guestbook is http://mp6814.awardspace.us/html/guestbook.php

Hi Mike - any further ideas after visiting my guestbook?
I hope BP oil spill is not going to affect those beautiful beaches (and
    wildlife) in Pensacola!

It is showing a broken link to the image (can't find the image).

Have you tried to clean up your local folders and do a full site generation as outlined in this tutorial? http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=4029

    Thanks, Mike.
Well, I have thought about it, but was deterred by the slowness of this
process (and then long upload time @ 0.1 Mbps!, thanks to RoadRunner), but
now I may actually be encouraged.
I only once have removed the folder that held the captcha files, and then
re-published, but that did not help (neither did changing other settings -
vertical character display, different sets of characters, display at the
bottom, top again, separate page etc.).
I agree though that this site may require a clean "reboot".
Alarming though was that the guestbook disappeared after the crash and
    server revival.

This is completely unexplained - now the Captcha sequence works and displays
fine! (though I haven't tested it yet)
I tend to think it was a host issue, but who knows what really happened...
Thanks for help, such input is important and always appreciated.
