    Default change assets location?

    Hi,

I am using an external hard drive to store all my assets and this has been called via an IP address, rather than a mapped drive letter.

Now, after a power cut, I have lost the IP address and hence the assets path dosent exist anymore.

I started to go through the assets manager and change the path but i have lots (really lots) to go through.

Is there a way to change the path for all assets (the folder structure and file names is still the same)?

    No, there isn´t.
But have you never made a decent backup, I mean a template?
If you make a template NOF creates a nice package as a .zip file, with everything included, assets, style.....

    As Mia said..........

They must be relinked one at a time (details): http://www.gotfusion.com/tutorials/tut.cfm?itemID=357

Exporting to template collects all assets into one location. Re-create the site project from the exported template and all assets will be in the site project asset folder

In the future (once you have humpty dumpty back together again) make sure that you have a check in the box at the bottom of the palette to "copy to assets folder" every time you add an image you will have a copy of your remote image in your assets folder. One you check the box, it "should" stay checked (but look anyway to make sure)

    Thanks All,

Mangaged to re assign the IP address for the Hard Drive and its working ok again, at least for now.

Thanks for the backing up advice using templates, will look into this.

And I sincerely hope you're backing up that hard drive to another. Hard drives have been known to fail (with monotonous regularity if you have enough of them, as I do).
