Thread: Products photos with magnifier

    Default Products photos with magnifier

    Hi all! My customer would like to have their products pictures so, that on product page there would be a smaller picture of the product and then visitor could put magnifying lens over it and see details of the product.

    So far I have just made these photos in that way, that I have just used smaller picture and then visitor wants to see it details, they click on it and bigger version will open in a new window.

    But now this magnifier thing seems to be the most important thing for them. What kind of a 3-party solutions there is for this and also it should be really, really easy to use and implement to the NOF site, more easier the better. It do not have to be free, if that matters.

    Any ideas?

    I used Zoomify on a few websites years ago, and it was pretty ease to use at the time. Here's their website:

    Here's a bunch of jQuery-based (free) ones you can check out. Just be careful of JQuery conflicts with NOF's jQuery...

    Trimdoner, thank you very much! Are all this kind of programs using Flash and if yes, how about visibility in very latest browser versions/mobile? Aren't Flash going away?

    Ah it seems that there is also these jQuery-versions available. I do have very bad experience with another jQuery-plugin I tried to put on one of my sites, it totally messed up everything and I didn't know how to fix it and I had to take it away.

    A quick read of their website ;
    Publishing: using just HTML, JPEGs, and one small JavaScript file, the Zoomify content can be hosted on any web server and is compatible with popular publishing, and ecommerce software
    Viewing: all popular browsers are supported on all platforms including PCs, Macs, iOS, Android, and more - all without any special downloads or installs

    so no Flash!

    Oh thank you! Totally new world to me these things, I have only used things that I can find inside NOF I think that Starplugins would be great and make my customer happy. However, I have to find someone who would implement this code to my NOF template, as even this is probably very basic thing, it goes over my comfort zone But thank you very much, I have to think how to do this.
